Poverty Articles Response

The authors of both of these articles have very different views about the same subject concerning poverty. I began reading Live Free and Starve, and within the first few sentences I developed an unentintional bias against the point of views of the author. When the author stated that "[her] liberal friends applauded the bill," it suggested that she herself had conservative views with which I would disagree. I try not to have this view towards people but though I tried to understand her point of view, I remained in disagreement of her article. Though the author's point of view does somewhat make sense, I believe that her example of occurrences in India have no value in this discussion as The United States of America is much wealthier, and contains less poverty than India. In conclusion, the author of Live Free and Starve, does not have a valid argument that the discussed bill has errors. After reading The Singer Solution to World Poverty, I realized that I do very much agree with the author's opinion and point supporting it. I have never really thought about the fact that blowing off a charity to save kids live can be just as inhumane as making the decision to kill the child yourself. If everyone would consider Singer's views, the world would be a much better place with wealthy people around the world constantly donating to charities such as the aforementioned.
